Saints John and Paul Catholic School

 

1.   Saints John and Paul Catholic School is a K-12 Youngstown Diocesan school accredited by the State of Ohio.  All of our teachers hold a current state license.

 

2.   We offer a safe, respectful learning environment with an ideal student to teacher ratio.  While we are Roman Catholic in belief, we welcome all faiths and denominations.

 

3.  Saints John and Paul High School has a 100% graduation rate, with 100% of our seniors continuing on to college or military career.  In 2010, our graduating seniors received over $2.2 million in offered college scholarships and grants. 

 

4.  On the Ohio Graduation Test (OGT), taken by all schools in Ohio, the Saints John and Paul Class of 2011 ranked among the top 10% in the state of Ohio.  SSJP consistently has the highest OGT scores in Ashtabula County.

 

5.  Our challenging curriculum includes advanced academic opportunities available through Ohio’s Post-Secondary Options Program at Kent State University Ashtabula and Lakeland Community College.  Advanced Placement (AP) high school classes are offered in English, Social Studies and Spanish.         

 

6.  Athletic programs available at the junior high and high school include Football, Volleyball, Golf, Cross Country, Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Tennis, Track and Cheerleading.  Intramural Flag Football and Intramural Basketball are offered at the elementary level.

 

7.   A learning disability and a speech therapist are on staff to serve students in grades K-12.  Title One services also

      include a remedial and gifted tutor.       

 

8.   Busing is available for students from Ashtabula, Geneva, Jefferson and Conneaut school districts. 

 

9.  The elementary school offers band for grades 4-6.  An after school program is available for elementary children until

       5:15 each day.

 

10. Financial aid is available for both elementary and high school students.  Payment plans are offered.  We participate

      in the Free and Reduced Lunch Program. New student scholarships are also available.
