EAGLE OF THE CROSS

The tenth annual "Eagle of the Cross" was presented at a Mass and awards banquet on April 29th at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Youngstown.

Twenty-four youth were selected to receive the award, which the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown presents annually to outstanding high school juniors and seniors. This national award, from the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM), is given to extraordinary Catholic youth, who exemplify the qualities of moral integrity, prayer and spiritual life, personal outreach to church and community, contribution to parish and school programs, and Christian leadership. It is the highest recognition a diocese may confer on a youth.

This year's Eagle of the Cross honorees from Saints John and Paul High School were Senior Hope Sivlieus and Junior Stephen Robison.
