COLLEGE VISITS

Students are permitted two (2) college days per school year.

§         Prior to the visit (preferably one week in advance), students are asked to inform the guidance counselor of the scheduled visit.  She, in turn, notifies the teaching staff of this absence from school.

§         Students are expected to meet any assignment deadlines or make-up any tests, quizzes, assignments, etc. missed that day.

§         Upon returning to school, students are asked to submit verification from an admission counselor or the admission office of their visit so that the day missed can be excused and not tallied as a day’s absence.  If verification is not received, the day will be tallied as a day absent.

We encourage students visit colleges the summer after their junior year.

In senior year, students should visit the colleges they plan on submitting an application and again in the spring before making a final decision.

The visit should include a meeting with representatives from the Office of Admission and the Office of Financial Aid.  A campus tour should be part of this visit.

We recommend (but not require) that the student bring an unofficial copy of his/her transcript for review by an admissions counselor.
