_____ American Legion’s National High School Oratorical Contest Scholarship (1 - $18,000)

Applicants must be planning to attend a college or university in the United States and be under the age of 20.  Applicants will compete in speeches with on aspects of the U.S. Constitution, with some emphasis on the duties and obligations of citizens to our government. Speeches are eight to 10 minutes long.  Deadline:  ??????

 

 

_____ Ashtabula County Business Exchange (3 - $1,000 awards) Open to high school seniors planning to attend college.  To be considered for the awards, eligible students are required to submit the following:  1)a one-page letter of request explaining why they believe they deserve the award; 2) proof of academic eligibility (3.0 or better GPA); 3) two letters of recommendation from academic advisors (teachers, professors, guidance counselors, etc.); 4) Student Aid Report; record of community service.  Deadline:  April 15, 2011

 

_____ Cavaliers/ First Merit Scholarship (1- $2000) Applicant must be a high school senior who intends to pursue a post-high school education.  Applicant selection will be based on academic achievement, extra curricular and community involvement. Applicant is asked to complete the scholarship entry form, a 500 word essay on the following question: “What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned up to this point in your life and how do you plan to apply that lesson going forward.”  In addition, applicant must also have one letter of recommendation from a high school faculty member and may be interviewed.  Deadline: April 5, 2011.

 

_____U.S. Bank’s Internet Scholarship (1 - $1,000)  Applicant must be high school senior who is college bound and is planning to enroll in the fall at an eligible four year college or university.

 

_______   American of Italian Heritage Scholarship (1 -$2000)  Applicant must have at least one

parent of Italian decent, be a well rounded graduating high school senior who is in financial need and can demonstrate their dedication and commitment to continuing their education.  Applicant must fill out an application and supply an official financial aid award letter from college they will be attending and two letters of recommendation.  Deadline:  May 16, 2011

 

____   The William D. Squire Scholarship (1 -$3000)  Applicant must be an Ohio high school senior in the class of 2011 who shows academic promise, good character and motivation.

Applicant should have a minimum 3.2 GPA, have a specific career goal in mind and be in financial need. Applicant must supply an application, two letters of recommendation and a one page autobiography. 

Deadline: April 5, 2011

 

_____  ABWA Chalice Charter Chapter’s 2011 Scholarship (1 - $1000) Applicant must fill out an  application, provide two character reference letters, high school transcript, and a biographical statement that cover applicants educational background and financial need.

_____  Josh Forinash Memorial Scholarship (1 - $1000) Applicant must be a graduating high school senior who plans to pursue a career in computer science or healthcare and be planning to attend a college, trade or technical school full time.  Applicant must submit a completed application consisting of short answer questions and additional documentation. Deadline: April 8, 2011  

 

_____  Ashtabula Lions Scholarship (1 - $1000)  Applicant must be a senior at Lakeside, Edgewood or Sts. John & Paul High school who is planning to attend a college or university o a full time basis. Applicants must submit a completed application consisting of short answer questions and additional documentation. 

Deadline: April 8, 2011

 

_____ Ashtabula County Cattlemen’s Association 2011 Youth Scholarship (1 - $1000) Applicant must be an Ashtabula County Senior Student who will be attending an accredited four year college or accredited two year technical institute in 2011-2012.  The first preference for the scholarship winner is that the applicant is a deserving student who has been involved in the beef industry as a youth.  The second preference for the scholarship winner is that the applicant be planning to study a beef related filed.  Applicant must submit a completed application consisting of short answer questions and additional documentation. Deadline:  May 2, 2011

 

_____  Bloom Family Scholarship (1 - $1000)   Applicant must be planning to attend the Ohio State University or Agricultural Technical Institute.  Deadline:  May 2, 2011

 

_____ Ashtabula County 4-H Foundation Scholarship (1 - $1000)  Applicant must have been an Ashtabula

_____  Harold G. Springer Memorial  Scholarship (1  - $1000)  Applicant must be enrolled in agriculture, natural resources, family and consumer sciences, or environmental sciences.

 

_____  Service- Jerome Scholarship (1 - $1000)  Applicant must be a student studying agriculture, natural resources, family and consumer sciences, or environmental sciences at The Ohio State University or the Agricultural Technical Institute.

 

_____  Western Reserve Farm Cooperation Scholarship (1 - $1000)  Applicant  must be enrolled at a an accredited four year college or two year technical institute and be from Ashtabula County.

 

_____  Lautanen Family  4-H Scholarship (1 - $1000)  Applicant must have been an Ashtabula County 4-H member for a minimum five years and must demonstrate outstanding achievement in 4-H project work, outstanding leadership qualities, above average scholastic record and a record of community service.
